Fortitudo ist die Personifikation der Stärke, Standhaftigkeit und Tapferkeit. Seit Platon zählt sie mit Iustitia, Prudentia und Temperantia zu den vier Kardinaltugenden. Als Attribute dienen meist Keule, Löwe, Rüstung, Schild, Schwert und Siegesfahne.
